Why Did You Decide to Use a Doula? - Video

Birth Doula Services:

I am available to provide pre-natal and labor support. This includes:

• Two to three (depending on time frame) pre-natal consultations to discuss history, expectations of birth, and options in childbirth
• unlimited phone calls and emails pre-natally
• One hour of bodywork either pre-natally or postpartum
• labor support where I will join the laboring mother at home or in the hospital and will stay until breastfeeding has been established and the family has started to bond
• two postpartum visits to join the family in sharing our different visions of the birth, assist in breastfeeding support, and answer questions regarding normal newborn behavior and mother’s postpartum health
• Clients will also receive a birth care package including a rice sock and postpartum bath herbs

Birth Package Fee: $600
I ask for $200 as a deposit to secure my services and the remainder is due at the first postpartum visit.

Postpartum Doula Services:

I am available to provide any of the following postpartum services. The services provided are tailored to meet each individual families specific needs.

• Breastfeeding support
• Newborn Care
• Sibling Care
• Light Housekeeping
• Errands
• Meal Preparation

Service fee: Fee is $18/hour and services are provided in 4 hour increments.

Classes:

Mandy, along with local yoga teacher, Cameron Gunter, is offering an innovative new class entitled “Earth Reborn”.

A 4 week series exploring the evolutionary journey of new life:

• Week 1: Pre-conception- preparing body, mind, and spirit for the mother, family, and future child
• Week 2: Pregnancy- the quality of pregnancy outcome depends mainly on the psychological, physical, and spiritual qualities of the mother's and family's life
• Week 3: Birth- truly embodying birth: physiological vs. managed
• Week 4: Exploration of the consciousness of infants

  A belly cast is one of the most accurate and realistic representations of pregnancy because it's 3-dimensional…unlike photographs or videos. It preserves the miracle of changes Mom's body has undergone to bring a new person into the world. Belly casting is a true representation of that miracle. Belly casting involves plaster gauze that is softened with water and then applied to Mom's torso over a layer of lubricant. When the bandages harden and the cast has set (about 1 hour), it's easily removed and the belly cast is complete.
